How accurate are the line calls?

The dual-camera tournament setup used on the UTR Pro Tennis Tour and ATP Challenger Tour delivers 98% accuracy under optimal conditions. 

Accuracy may be impacted by conditions such as:

• Low sun.

• Shadows.

• Low contrast court lines.

• Covered lines on clay courts (sweeping the court and recalibrating may fix).

• High balls dropping near the baseline.

• Net cord shots where the ball trajectory changes suddenly.

• Partial obstruction by players.

Can I use a single camera setup for tournament line calling?

While line calling can be done with a single-camera setup, we always recommend our dual-camera setup for line calling use cases. 

With one viewing angle, some close calls can be harder, especially when the ball is far from the camera, moving very fast, partially blocked, affected by lighting conditions, or close to the baseline.

Does tracking only rely on visual data?

Baseline calculates the full 3D trajectory of the ball, which helps it call lines even when part of the visual data is missing.

Will the camera accurately call lines on grass courts?

Yes, as long as the lines are reasonably visible.

Will the camera accurately call lines on clay courts?

Yes, as long as the lines are reasonably visible. Giving the court a quick sweep before you calibrate the camera should ensure higher accuracy.
