Drill: Serve StrikeUpdated 3 days ago

Want to sharpen your serve with real feedback, real pressure, and real results? This training mode is designed to build power, accuracy, and confidence — one serve at a time.

See a video summary of Serve Strike and the rules here:

How to play Serve Strike

Serve Strike is played solo, one server at a time.

The rules are simple:

  1. Choose your target zone before you start: Wide, Body, or T.
  2. Serve 20 times, aiming to land as many as possible in your chosen zone.
  3. Each serve is scored on where it lands and how fast it travels (see below).

ResultPoints
✅ Hits the chosen target zone+40
✅ Lands in the service box (not the target)+10
❌ Hits the net-20
❌ Fault (out)-10

Serves that fall within a Bonus Speed Range earn a multiplier on top of their base score:

  • 145+ km/h — x2
  • 161+ km/h — x3
  • 177+ km/h — x4

Baseline calls out the speed of every shot and lets players know when they've hit their target.

While the app isn't needed during the session, coaches and those who aren't playing can use it to monitor player stats and score in real time.

Once the game is finished, the player's score will automatically be logged on the worldwide leaderboard so they can see where they stand against their peers, and what score they'll need to beat to climb the rankings.

Here’s how to check the leaderboard.

How to maximize your score

💡 Don't chase speed at the expense of accuracy, or accuracy at the expense of speed. Scoring rewards both, so find the balance that pushes your combined score highest.

💡 A serve that lands in the box but misses the target still banks 10 points. That's a safer outcome than a fault or a net, so when in doubt, prioritize getting it in.

💡 Know your speed brackets. Once you can consistently reach one Bonus Speed Range, that's your cue to push toward the next multiplier.

💡 Run all three target zones (Wide, Body, T) across a session. It's the fastest way to find which placement needs the most work.

After the game

After your session is over, you'll see a summary of your performance. This includes:

  • Your score for the session
  • Targets hit
  • Overall accuracy
  • Average serve speed
  • Fastest serve
  • How many times you got each speed bonus
  • Pro Stats (net clearance, player positioning, etc.)

How to use Serve Strike in coaching sessions

  • Set a target score for players to beat during warm-up, and raise the bar as their serve develops.
  • Run all three target zones (Wide, Body, T) in one session to build well-rounded placement, rather than letting players default to one zone.
  • Use the session score as an accountability check-in. Players can see exactly how their session went, and you have the stats on hand to review together.
